Staff Guide

Comprehensive guide to roles, responsibilities, and rules for HappyMC staff members.

What roles we have in staff

Manager

Manages the server. You can ask for help in important situations.

Admin

Guides staff and helps them with server operations.

Sr. Mod

Helps lower staff in making decisions during confusing or complex situations.

Mod

Helps Helpers become aware about all rules and how the server works.

Helper

New staff who help our server by moderating and giving their best effort.

What helpers and other staff need to do

01Fair Play & Equality

We don't have any restrictions for staff members; they can play as a member in the server. Just make sure you are serving our server. You need to be fair every time. You have permissions, so whatever team you are playing in, make sure to treat everyone equally.

02Team Fights & Wars

Team fights and team wars should not effect the staff server. If we catch you doing this, you will be punished.

03Punishing Team Members

If any staff member is not punishing their team members when they break rules, you need to provide proofs to the manager. They will take appropriate action on them.

04Logging Punishments

After punishing members, you must put logs. Missing any log may lead to facing consequences for that staff member.

05Staff Conduct & Professionalism

As a staff member, you represent HappyMC. Never abuse your powers. Always stay calm and professional, even in heated situations. Do not argue with players in public chat. If a player is being difficult, handle it privately or escalate to a higher-up. Your behavior sets the standard for the community.

06Inactivity Policy

Staff members who are inactive without prior notice will be demoted for inactivity. If you need to take a break, inform a Manager beforehand so we know you are away. Unannounced absences will not be tolerated.

07Confidentiality

All internal staff discussions, upcoming updates, plans, and decisions are strictly confidential. Do not leak or share any staff-only information with regular players or anyone outside the staff team. Breaking this rule will result in immediate demotion.

08Demotion & Resignation

If you wish to resign from staff, inform a Manager properly before leaving. Do not just go inactive or leave without notice. Demotions may happen due to rule violations, inactivity, power abuse, or failure to perform duties. All demotions are decided by the management team.

Ticket Support Guide

This guide explains how staff should help players in tickets. Always stay professional. Do not turn tickets into general chat. Keep everything clean and easy to follow.

Quick Rule: When a ticket is not filled in correctly, you can close it instantly with the reason: ticket not filled in correctly.

How to Handle Tickets

  • Ask players to send their full issue in one clear message
  • You also reply in one clear message
  • Do not send many small messages
  • Do not start long conversations
  • Keep everything short, clear and professional, like sending an email
  • If players start chatting or going off-topic, remind them to stay on the ticket topic only
  • If the ticket becomes messy or unclear, ask the player to rewrite their issue in one message
  • If they do not follow it, you can close the ticket and ask them to open a new one with correct info
  • Always ask players if they have proof
  • If players do not have proof, we cannot help and the ticket can be closed
  • Always stay calm, friendly and clear
  • If you are unsure about something, ask a manager before giving the wrong answer

Ticket Closing Rules

You can close a ticket with ticket not filled in correctly if:

  • The player does not follow instructions
  • The ticket is empty
  • The ticket has no issue written
  • The player keeps chatting and not explaining
  • The player has no proof for their claim

This keeps the support clean and easy for everyone. Use common sense.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if I'm unsure about a punishment?+
Always ask a higher-up (Mod, Sr. Mod, Admin, or Manager) before making a decision you're not confident about. It's better to wait and get the right answer than to punish someone incorrectly.
Can I play on the server as a regular player?+
Yes! Staff members are free to play as regular players. Just make sure you are also fulfilling your staff duties and treating everyone fairly while you play.
What happens if I forget to log a punishment?+
Missing punishment logs is taken seriously. You may face consequences from management. Always log every punishment immediately after issuing it in the correct format.
How do I handle a player who is toxic towards me?+
Stay calm and professional. Do not argue back. If the player is breaking rules, punish them accordingly with proper evidence. If it becomes personal, escalate it to a Manager.
What if I need to take a break from staff duties?+
Inform a Manager before going inactive. Let them know how long you'll be away. Unannounced inactivity may lead to demotion.
Can I punish other staff members?+
If a staff member breaks rules, gather evidence and report it to a Manager. Do not take action on your own against fellow staff members unless it's an immediate situation that needs handling.
What evidence is considered valid?+
Screenshots and videos must be clear, unedited, and show the scoreboard and player name. Cropped, blurred, or edited proof is not accepted.
